It's hard to find some positive by reading the Los Angeles Lakers news reports these days, but Jeremy Lin seems to be a bright spark even as Kobe Bryant struggles. Meanwhile, an article pointed out that "Linsanity" can be revived if the point guard's minutes can be maximized.
"Lin's offense some of the time was part of the very short list of positives for the Lakers," Sportige said in its Los Angeles Lakers news report.
"Their bench remains a black hole, contributing nothing to the game. Right now, until Nick Young, Wayne Ellington and Xavier Henry (playing, but barely getting minutes) are actually back, Ed Davis is the only player from the second unit that has the ability to somehow affect the game in a positive way."
The sports blog conceded that the Lakers doesn't owe Jeremy Lin anything.
"But the offense is going through the wrong hands most of the time. Not that Bryant is a bad choice, but he gets too many touches, and does too badly with them. While the ball moves quicker with Lin in control, it feels like the bad start is trickling down and affecting everyone," it added.
In other Los Angeles Lakes report, ESPN noted that a semblance of "Linsanity" can still be achieved if Byron Scott manage to maximize Jeremy Lin's minutes.
NBA writer Arash Markazi said in the EPSN piece that Jeremy Lin looked like a different player alongside Kobe Bryant.
"He needs to be aggressive and play to his strengths no matter if Bryant is on the court or not. What is happening now is Lin is a different player when Bryant's on the floor," the writer said. "He isn't as aggressive and isn't the player the Lakers need him to be when Bryant is controlling the ball. That needs to change if the Lakers are going to be anything more than a vehicle for Bryant to win the scoring title this season."
