Spurs currently sit 12th in the Premier League following a fourth defeat in six home league games against Stoke last weekend.

There is currently considerable unrest among fans disgruntled at their continued underachievement, with some pointing the finger at new boss Pochettino's tactics and team selections.

But Lloris, the France number one who performed well as his country drew 1-1 draw with Albania on Friday night, has exonerated the Argentine, who only took over in the summer.

Lloris told L'Equipe: "I do not blame him. I trust the coaching staff and the current head coach.

"When it's the third coach in a year and there are problems, the coach is not necessarily the problem. Nevertheless, we are working and trying to find answers."

Lloris is Tottenham's vice captain and signed a new long-term contract at White Hart Lane in the summer and he insists he does not regret making that step.

"I do not regret it at all. I knew times like this at Lyon," he said.

"However, at Lyon there was a real pressure on a daily basis and crisis management. We are more left to ourselves in London, where we are comfortable.

"We have to get out of this because if we ever play to stay up, being comfortable is not going to help us. That makes me sorry for the coach."
