Months ago, company executives Carl and David finally confirmed the release date of OnePlus Two phone. With mobile enthusiasts now eyeing on the Q2-Q3 of 2015 launch of this device, you might ask: what makes this device so interesting and promising?

This year, its predecessor OnePlus One became known as one of the most-reviewed gadget available in the market today, strongly competing with the mobile alphas. Dangling a price tag of $300 with surprisingly high-end features, it's no longer surprising how OnePlus One easily became one of the most sought-after midrange phones. In fact, according to PC Advisor, this model goes on a head to head battle with Samsung Galaxy S5, Sony Xperia Z2, LG G3, and HTC One M8.

While its specs are fairly impressive, OnePlus One users had to comment on the huge size of the phone. With this, Carl stated: "We've seen a lot of people asking for a smaller device, and want to let everyone know that we hear you. We're thinking about it."

We only have some vague details about its successor such as it will allegedly run on an Android L platform, with more responsive touchscreen and faster hardware performance. The said device also aims to compete with the flagships Samsung Galaxy S5, Google Nexus 5, and HTC One.

However, to help you manage your expectations on OnePlus Two here's a recap of OnePlus One's specs and features:

Design and Display

Undoubtedly one of the biggest phones in the market (coming in 152.9x75.9x8.9mm), The OnePlus One still has a minimalist appearance with its chrome plate around the rear camera, a monolithic black front screen, and the logos on the back cover. The front screen features capacitive keys which can be deactivated in order to use the on-screen navigation bar.

It has a 5.5-inch LTPS LCD display rendering a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, with a density of 401 ppi.

Hardware and OS

If you're looking for a faster smartphone, OnePlus One's hardware does not disappoint: It is powered by a 2.5 GHz quad core krait 400 processor and Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801 chipset. It comes with 3GB of RAM ideal for gaming.

You can choose between its 16 and 64GB variants, but it doesn't have a MicroSD slot for additional memory.

The device also runs on the Android 4.4 KitKat OS based on the Android platform called CyanogenMod 11S, so you can tweak the interface including its icons, general UI look and feel, fonts, etc.

Camera

The OnePlus One sports a 13 MP camera with Sony Exmor RS sensor, coupled with a 6 part optic system and dual-tone LED perfect for taking selfies. It also has 5 MP secondary camera set an 80-degree angle.

Battery

OnePlus One is fully loaded with 3100 mAh battery life.
