What do we know so far about the brand new reboot of the iconic Terminator movie? A lot, as it turns out. The cast has not exactly been shy about the details of the movie, and the more hints they drop about the Terminator Genesis plot, the more excited fans get about this brand new movie.
One of the key plot details that have been confirmed is the reprisal of Arnold Schwarzenegger of his role in this new Terminator movie. But whereas he was the buzz, and muscular young man playing T-800 in the original James Cameron films, the actor has now considerably aged. It turns out that this aging of the actor is well integrated into the Terminator Genesis plot. The Terminator himself has explained in a previous interview that the robot in him as T-800 will never age, but the human skin that is his exterior will become older. This will very neatly explain why the 66 year old actor will look as he does when he appears in the new Terminator Genesis movie.
Another key Terminator Genesis plot point was reported by several news outlet. It just might turn out that Arnold Schwarzenegger's character is Sarah Connor's father! One of the reasons given here is that Sarah Connor's character calls him "Pops." Meanwhile, the story itself will reportedly be going through several different settings and timelines -- from 1984 where the original Terminator was set, and then will hop on to 1991, which was when Terminator 2: Judgment Day happened.
According to Moviehole, "The Terminator from the future will arrive on earth, attack some punks (keen to see who they get to play 'Bill Paxton'), and they slaughter his way through a bunch of Sarah Connors -- until he finds the correct target."
We can also expect many of the characters from the James Cameron original films to reprise their roles and take part in the time traveling Terminator Genesis plot line. Still according to Moviehole, "And all the characters that appeared in the Cameron original, like Detective Hal, Lieutenant Ed Traxter, Sarahs' roomie Ginger, and even Pugsley the Iguana will return."
