Mark Hunt's next fight may still be a long way to go, but "Super Samoan" has promised to come back stronger. The 40-year old PRIDE FC veteran also feels that he can still compete with the younger fighters of today.

With four more fights left in his contract, Mark Hunt's next fight may happen during the first half of 2015. His experience as a ten-year mixed martial arts veteran is what has been helping him propel through the tough waters in the UFC's heavyweight division.

In fact, his most recent fight against Fabricio Werdum for the interim title was taken with just a few weeks' notice, having fought last just two months prior. Unfortunately for him, things did not go his way, as he was knocked out at the 2:27 mark on Saturday night, after a solid performance on the fight's onset.

In an interview with Ariel Helwani for UFC on FOX, Hunt explained how he lost momentum after taking off in the first round.

"My gas, it was starting to get to me so it was one of those things," Hunt stated. "Then I got caught. It was a good trick."

"He caught me, so I lost," he jokingly added.

And despite taking the fight on such short notice, and given that the fight was held in Mexico, which was at a higher altitude, "Super Samoan" easily conceded to the fact that his opponent's strategy was the better one that night.

"I lost, man. I got caught," he said. "I got a knee in the face and I didn't see it coming, so I got caught."

At 40 years of age, it is not common for even the most legendary fighters to carry on with competition. And while Mark Hunt's next fight has yet to be finalized, the PRIDE FC veteran promised to come back stronger than ever.

"I'll be back. I'm still one of the best fighters in the world," Hunt confidently declared. "I might have lost tonight and I'm one of the older guys, but I'm still keeping up."
