Broadcasting rights for Disney's 'Cinderella' live action movie has already been secured by Turner Broadcasting System, Inc, which includes TBS, TNT and Cartoon Network, according to Broadway.com.
The network aims to exclusively air the fairytale remake in mid-2017, 2 years after Disney plans to release the 'Cinderella' live action movie on March 13, 2015.
The same broadcasting company also secured the rights for another Disney live action remake. 'The Jungle Book,' which will be released on October 19, 2015.
"We are confident Disney's new live-action versions of Cinderella and The Jungle Book will appeal to a wide range of demographics and will enjoy extremely successful runs across our various branded networks," Senior Vice President, head of program acquisitions, content strategy and licensing for Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., Deborah K. Bradley said about the agreement.
She also added, "These movies are the kind of tent-pole releases that will fit perfectly with Turner's ever-growing stable of blockbuster titles."
Meanwhile, anticipation has been built for the Kenneth Branagh-directed retelling of the famous fairytale. The first teaser only featured Ella's glass slipper without telling much of the story. Fans are hoping for more excitement from the full trailer.
Despite the onslaught of drastically recreated classic tales ('Alice In Wonderland' and 'Maleficent') director Kenneth Branagh reportedly wants to keep the story's original sentiment for the 'Cinderella' live action version intact.
There will be one difference, though.
In this version, Ella will get to know the prince (who introduces himself as Kit) before the actual ball, thinking that he is a mere palace hand. They strike a friendship before meeting at the party
The Academy Award nominee aims to arm Ella with courage and kindness, "as if goodness was a super-power."
'Downton Abbey' star Lily James will play Ella, while Prince Charming (Kit) will be played by 'Game Of Thrones' star Richard Madden. Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter, and Stellan Skarsgard will join them in the new film.
