After several episodes of complete silence from the Gig Harbor Killer, DB Russell and the rest of the CSI team finally get their chance to dig into the serial killer's case with a new body drop. However, they seem to have more questions now than answers. Read on for this week's 'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation' season 15 recap!
'Twin Paradox' starts off like the rest of the Gig Harbor Killer cases, the team discovers an already processed crime scene using strings the murderer made with his victim's body parts. This time, however, he (or they) leave a vital clue behind.
Sarah was able to process the 911 call that was recorded to lure Russell and his team out. From there, they discover that there are, in fact, two sets of footsteps in the room. Russell and Finlay already suspect the Winthrop twins tag teamed in killing all those girls in the past, but since Jared is still locked up, they have to figure out who Paul managed to rope into the macabre hobby after his brother.
Meanwhile, Daniel Shaw's partner, Carrie, whom he went to Nevada to look for, was finally found and brought to a hospital. Although she didn't know where she was kept, she did help the CSIs figure out her exact location. She also revealed that the person she met with wasn't Atty. Turner but Paul Winthrop himself.
With Carrie's help and some more investigation, Greg and Finlay infiltrate the old hotel where they believe the killer kept his victims. What they find, however, is a blond woman who starts panicking when Greg calls backup.
She takes his gun and would have used it on him if Finlay hadn't interfered. Later, they find out that the woman actually had a sex change and his DNA matched the male DNA found in the dead girls they exhumed some episodes ago. Find out about it in past 'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation' season 15 recaps here.
Is he/she the Gig Harbor killer? Russell doesn't think so. That's why he called in Agent Avery Ryan (returning guest Patricia Arquette) to help him profile the Winthrop twins. To catch him, however, he has to put someone he loves on the line.
Finlay, intent on investigating further, visits Carrie at the hospital, only to witness her panicking at the sight of Daniel Shaw.
Later that night, Daniel Shaw himself meets up with Paul Winthrop acting like they're more than just acquaintances.
Is Daniel Shaw the Gig Harbor Killer's new pawn? Does that explain his fixation on Finlay (who has blond hair, like the past victims)?
Is this mystery enough to raise the crime show's ratings?
