Female Great Dane Litter 19 Puppies, 'It's A Shocker' Says Owner', Guinness Record Belongs To 24 Pups Born To Neapolitan Mastiff
York Haven, PA -- According to reports, a Great Dane Litter 19 Puppies surprised Pennsylvanians with her giant litter. She also surprised her owners and national media with her whopping number of puppies. Snowy, the female Great Dane Litter 19 Puppies belongs to York County's Brandon and Aimie Terry, say reports.
Brandon and Amie took good care of the Great Dane Litter 19 Puppies, but they had no idea that Snowy would deliver 19 puppies at their home. Before the Great Dane Litter 19 Puppies, Brandon Terry was quoted by WHTM as saying that 15 was the maximum amount of puppies they were expecting. They were certainly not prepared to welcome 19 pups into their home.
The Inquisitr reported that an X-ray at the vet revealed 15 puppies: ""We had made an appointment to take her into the vet, and they did an X-ray, and found out there were 15 spines in the X-ray."
The first few puppies were born at the Terry home, while the rest of the Great Dane Litter 19 Puppies were delivered at a local veterinary hospital.
Mr. Terry said, "It's a shocker, but I'm glad that they're all here," WHTM reports via Inquisitr.
Normally, Female Great Dane Litter 19 Puppies deliver about 8 pups in a litter. The Terry family said they plan to keep the first pup and put the rest up for adoption.
"Right now they're into exploring and playing, fighting with each other," Mrs. Terry was quoted by the Inquisitr.
"While the 19 puppies born to this Great Dane are truly an amazing number, it is still short of the world record. The current record for the largest known litter of puppies to a single dog is 24. These were born to Neapolitan mastiff in Cambridgeshire, England, back in 2004, according to Guinness World Records," the report added.
