Benedict Cumberbatch The Imitation Game

This new Benedict Cumberbatch movie boasts of a stellar cast, and very compelling subject matter -- it revolves around the real life story of English mathematician and logician Alan Turing, who helped in the second war efforts by cracking the renowned Enigma code. The Enigma code, according to the trailer, is "an unbreakable Nazi code" which would help the Allied Forces win the war. Cumberbatch plays Turing, who is a conflicted genius, plagued by personal issues that will eventually lead to tragic consequences.

This new movie is filled with notable UK actors that are familiar for their work in TV and movies. Keira Knightley is a co-star, as well as Charles Dance (Tywin Lannister in Game of Thrones) and Allen Leach (Tom Branson on Downton Abbey). It is directed by Morten Tyldum, a Norwegian film director who has won a BAFTA for Best Foreign Language film.

But the surprising thing is -- none of the actors including Benedict Cumberbatch in The Imitation Game are any good at solving puzzles! The Hollywood Reporter reports that the cast members are very poor even at crossword puzzles. Reportedly, the cast tried their hand at a crossword puzzle while filming, but Allen Leech shares that "we all did pretty poorly. It took us four days, and we still didn't complete it."

"I thought Benedict would be good - he's not. None of us are," Allen adds.

And for portraying a group of geniuses who were adept at the technology of their time, actress Keira Knightley also reports that she is very much behind in today's high tech world. "I'm an absolute technophobe," Keira shares. Meanwhile, another cast member Mark Strong admits that he has no social media presence whatsoever. "I'm not on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or any of that stuff."

The Imitation Game hits theaters on Nov. 28. In case you missed it, catch The Imitation Game trailer here:
