After revealing that his first full length album, 'In The Lonely Hour,' was actually about a straight man who didn't return his feelings, people can't help but wonder if Sam Smith is finally dating someone new right now.
According to the 'Stay With Me' singer, he's slowly moving on from that unrequited love.
He reportedly told the Associated Press, "I'm going on dates, here and there, meeting people."
The Inquisitor also noted that the openly gay balladeer has been spotted going to parties and dating other men.
His past unreturned love may have left him with a broken heart but he says he's "working on" looking for the right person to spend his life together with.
"I'm not lonely anymore because of that," he said about casual dating, "but obviously I would like someone next to me while I sleep. But I'm working on that."
For now, however, Sam Smith's dating life would have to take the backseat in his life with his need to aim higher in his career taking the front seat.
Having dreamed of stardom all his life, the 'Leave Your Lover' singer has finally found himself among the stars.
"I remember being ecstatic for having 200 Facebook likes. Now I take that completely for granted now that I have like a million. But I'm now thinking, 'I really would like two million,'" he said, sharing his passion to climb higher in his career.
Those millions of people who watch his videos might even include other stars. Smith shared his thoughts on meeting the people he used to just admire from afar.
"It's beautiful to meet someone who is truly a legend in her field," he said. He met Beyonce, Katy Perry, and several other artists during the MTV Video Music Awards last August.
He added, "I'd like to be a legend in my field, one day."
His rise to fame already started with his debut single 'Stay With Me,' which hit the number 2 spot in the UK Billboard Chart earlier this year. His next singles also did well on the music charts.
