Smartphone owners are already awaiting the Android L release date or update. Due to some bugs, the delivery was delayed to some Nexus devices. But since it has already been fixed, users thought that download will finally happen and everything will go well.
But as of Nov. 18, issues still arise as Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 users reported SMS bug that does not allow them to send text messages. Nexus 6 also suffers from the same concern. But this event is only restricted to some mobile operators (currently, Vodafone Netherlands, Mobistar Belgium and India).
For other phone users, they can anticipate Android L release date/update, according to this schedule:
HTC One M7 and HTC One M8: Owners of these two HTC One series phones can expect to receive Android 5.0 Lollipop update this coming Friday, Nov. 21. It is supposed to arrive early this week but sudden bugs and some delays caused the upgrade for the Google Play edition to be moved to later date.
LG G3: LG G3 users can expect their handsets to run on Android 5.0 from late November to early December. No definite date may have been given but at least they have an idea.
Sony Xperia Z Series: Sony Mobile announces that Android L update will be available for all its Xperia Z series - Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR, Xperia Tablet Z, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1S, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z2, Xperia Z2 Tablet, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3v, Xperia Z3 Compact, and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. However, the upgrade may not happen soon as the company says the upgrade will take place in the start of 2015 for Xperia Z3 and Zperia Z2 series. Other devices mentioned will be next.
Samsung: Samsung Galaxy s4 with the Exynos variant (GT-19500), which was earlier upgraded from Android 4.3 to 4.4, will receive Android 5.0 update early 2015, as confirmed by Sam Mobile. The same website also reported that Samsung has tested Android L on Galaxy s5 and hoping to do the update late November and early December. In the case of Note 4, the tech giant has tweeted about it so it is something that Galaxy Note 4 users have to wait as no specific date has been announced. It can be the same as the s5's. The tweet may have been done to at least give people a 'taste' of the update.
