Bad news for iPod fans as the iPod Touch 6G release date has been delayed to March 2015 after being allegedly set for October 2014 if the reports are to be believed.

In a report by The Mobile Hub, the iPod Touch 6G release date will coincide with iPad Air 2, iPad Mini 3 launch, which is scheduled to happen during Apple's upcoming iPad event. According to reports, the anticipated Apple iPad event is slated for October, a month after the expected launch of the iPhone 6.

Tech experts such as Tom Bones have predicting that the iPod Touch 6G release will be juxtaposed to the iPhone 6 launch this September. However, the post on Phones Review website noted that it is more likely for the iPod Touch 6th generation release date or unveiling to occur earliest in October, together with the upcoming iOS slates, the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3.

However, TechMania reported that the iPod Touch 6G release date has been delayed to March 2015.

The report states, "Apple like to keep the spotlight on their new iPhone models in September, and of course the iOS 8 public release will feature as well."

One of the iOS 8 features that might be available for the iPod Touch 6G, as well as the other forthcoming iGadgets like the iPad Mini 3 and iPad Air 2, is the Touch ID. Accordingly, Touch ID is Apple's fingerprint recognition tool for security and convenience options.
