"Fashion Police" news has reported that Kathy Griffin will officially be part of the show following the death of Joan Rivers. According to a report from TMZ, the redhead comedienne will be joined by another new host - Joan Rivers' 46-year- old daughter, Melissa Rivers.

The "Fashion Police" news came after sources revealed that Kathy Griffin signed a deal with E! Network-to be part of the hit fashion-critique show.

Kathy Griffin, who is considered by many as Joan Rivers' protégé, and Melissa Rivers will be joined by the show's original hosts Kelly Osbourne and Giuliana Rancic.

However, "Fashion Police" news reported that there is still no confirmation as to host's George Kotsiopoulos participation for the upcoming season.

According to earlier "Fashion Police" news reported by People, the comedienne admitted that she received an offer from E! network to be part of the program.

"They did offer it to me," Kathy Griffin revealed.

The confirmation happened at the Make Equality Reality gala in Beverly Hills. "I don't know if the situation is correct or right at this time for me. We'll see."

The rumor mill has been abuzz for the past months about who will "replace" Joan Rivers.

An earlier "Fashion Police" update reported that Kathy Griffin has already been chosen to replace the TV icon, since she is deemed to be Joan Rivers' protégé.

An insider has told Daily Mail: "Kathy has been told if she wants the gig she can have it because Melissa wanted someone who her mother would have approved of."

The source added: "Kathy will probably take the position but they are still working out the deal."

The "Fashion Police" update came after rumors regarding Kathy Griffin's hosting stint started circulating even while Joan Rivers was still in a coma. The late comedienne's good friend immediately shut down the rumors back then.

"It's disgusting. It's not true," Kathy Griffin said.

"I know that stuff shouldn't bother me at this stage of my career-you know, I thought I'd heard it all-but that one hurts, because it's as far from the truth as you can get," Kathy Griffin expressed, reported by Daily Mail.

A source close to Kathy Griffin said the redhead "adored and admired Joan". The insider said: "Not only did Joan mentor Kathy they were really close friends. Kathy is heartbroken that she is gone."
