"Zoolander 2" has been in the works long before 2014 approached, but the juicy details have only just begun starting coming forth.
The sequel to the original 2001 hit comedy will feature a star-studded cast that includes, Will Ferrell, Justin Theroux, Ben Stiller and now Penelope Cruz, according to the media outlet First Showing. Will Ferrell is reportedly expected to reprise his role as Mugatu while Owen Wilson will be taking on his role of Hansel.
Ben Stiller, of course, will be returning to "Zoolander 2" as Derek Zealander, according to the website betwired.com. Stiller will also reportedly be directing the sequel to the comedy, which is focused on the events within the modeling industry.
Although specific details of the film's plot haven't been released, Stiller had mentioned that the modeling industry is proving a challenge, as "ten years is a thousand years [in the industry]. They're both totally out of it and have to start from scratch," the actor stated, according to the Huffington Post.
He continued, "And then there are things set up at the end of the first movie that we're able to build on, like Derek and Matilda have a son, and Mugatu went to jail. There's a lot there, I'm excited about the idea of doing it. It feels like it's getting close to going."
Time has reportedly been the most unkind to Owen Wilson's character as he's expected to have experienced "a disfiguring injury."
