The ABC's How To Get Away With Murder will take a holiday break before coming back on January 29 despite all the questions that need answering. Meanwhile, executive producer Peter Nowalk offered spoilers on the "flash forward" method that the show has been exploiting from the start.

In an interview with TVLine, Nowalk said: "We talked about [continuing the flash-forwards], but they just felt gimmicky. You never want to feel like you're getting spoon-fed the same thing over and over again."

"We'll continue to wonder what people know and when they know it. That's what we're always trying to challenge the audience with, that question. We won't always understand characters' behaviors, and within episodes going forward, we'll flash back to something that helps the behaviors make sense," he added.

The final episode before the Christmas break showed that Wes was actually the one who struck the blow that killed Sam. Now, the series will deal with the aftermath as all the players will have to decide if they are loyal enough to Annalise or to each other to hide the truth.

Nowalk revealed more "How to Get Away With Murder" spoilers as he said that once the series resumes airing, "You can expect high drama. There are different allegiances. There are trust factors. There are people playing for their own survival."

"There's also groupthink. So it's messy, that's what I'll say. Whether it gets ugly or dark, everyone will see eventually, but it definitely gets very messy and complicated, and the tensions are running high between every character. All of their previous relationships get turned on their heads," he added.

Lastly, the executive producer promised, nobody is safe from the show.

Meanwhile, the ratings for the fall finale of ABC's "How to Get Away With Murder" rose, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"Scandal and How to Get Away With Murder shared a 3.1 rating among adults 18-49. And while that score was steady for Scandal, it marked a two-tenths of a point improvement in the key demo for Murder. Grey's Anatomy (2.4 adults) also matched last week's score," it said.

Watch out for more of ABC's How To Get Away With Murder spoilers as they will be published once released. The show will resume airing on the network on January 29 .
