As Marvel continues to churn out their superhero movies one after the other, casting choices are one of the most highly anticipated questions in every movie. After all, Robert Downey Jr's career was practically revived with the Iron Man movies, as the actor endeared himself to fans as the mischievous but loveable Tony Stark. Now, one of the most hyped up movies in terms of casting comes by way of the first time Marvel will have a first female superhero lead. Of course we are talking about the Captain Marvel cast, and different names of actresses have been tossed in the mix.
The latest name to surface is that of actress Emily Blunt. Recently, the actress proved she can hold her own in terms of action stunts, big guns, explosions, fighting sequences, car chase scenes and all the action movie staples because of her role as Rita Vatraski opposite Tom Cruise in Edge of Tomorrow. The well respected actress was recently asked about how she would feel if offered the lead part in the Captain Marvel cast during an interview with the website ScreenCrush. "I think, it's always for me, it's always about -- and now, more so-- what am I putting out there? What would be interesting for me and what would be interesting for people to see. So, if it's an awesome part, it doesn't matter if it's a Marvel movie or a tiny movie. I'd be up for it."
In the same interview, Emily denies being contacted by Marvel for any offers or negotiations about being part of the Captain Marvel cast. She does acknowledge that her brother told her that fans online have been rallying for her to play the lead role.
Reportedly, other actresses are wildly campaigning for the part of the Captain Marvel cast as its lead. One of them is Canadian actress Katheryn Winnick who is best known for her role in Vikings.
