Three people were shot and injured at the FSU shooting incident last week that involved 31-year-old Myron May opening fire at the school's library.
The shooting incident has reportedly left 21-year-old FSU student Farhan "Ronny" Ahmed paralyzed from the waist down after he had been hit three times, including a shot that severely damaged his spine, stated his sister, according to ABC News.
After the heartbreaking announcement, supporters are now reportedly heading to YouCaring to help raise $100,000 for Ahemd's recovery, according to the website Crowd Fund Insider. After the shocking shooting incident at FSU, Ahmed is now reportedly continuing to remain strong at the ICU at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, his family confirmed during a press conference on Monday.
"I just wanted to take this time to really thank everybody in the community who have come to his aid and have given him their support and have supported our family throughout this really hard time," stated Ahmen's sister, Farina Ahmed.
She continued, "I know the first people on the scene were the police, who if not for their quick response, probably a lot more students would have gotten hurt and Ronny himself was probably saved by the quickness of their actions."
The other two victims, library employee Nathan Scott and another student Elijah Velez, have reportedly been treated and released soon after the shooting.
"We are trying to set up a medical trust to support the family with medical expenses and long term care. Please help with anything you can, and sincere thanks for your kindness, generosity, and prayers," stated fellow classmate Chase Roberts.
