It's about time that we heard Christian Bale's thoughts on the brand new Batman v Superman movie by director Zack Snyder. After all, the actor's portrayal of the iconic DC superhero in the Christopher Nolan trilogy has been widely praised. Now, in the latest Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice news, Christian Bale himself reveals his true feelings upon finding out that a new actor was set to incarnate the role of the Caped Crusader.
Speaking with Empire Online magazine, the actor confessed that he actually felt jealous when he heard the Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice news that Ben Affleck was the new Dark Knight. "I've got to admit initially, even though I felt that it was the right time to stop, there was always that bit of me going, 'Oh go on... let's do another.' So when I heard that there was someone else doing, there was a moment where I just stopped and stared into nothing for half an hour," Bale shared. "But I'm 40. The fact that I'm jealous of someone else playing Batman.. I think I should have gotten over it by now. I haven't spoken with Ben, but I emailed him offering bits of advice that I learned the hard way. I would imagine he is doing everything he can to avoid doing anything that I did."
Aside from being asked about his current feelings about the new Batman, the Exodus Gods And Kings actor was also quizzed about other Batman related questions, such as whether he would be up to play Batman if there was ever a Justice League movie. Sadly, the actor did not comment on this question. But he did answer a funny one comparing Batman and the role he has most recently played -- that of the Biblical Moses. "It's a little embarrassing to compare Moses to Batman," Bale says. "There are similarities, you know, tragic beginnings and then a heroic future. But Moses is a little more violent. I'm sure if there had been guns around at that time, Bruce Wayne might have had a chance."
