Demi Lovato has grown up known as a Disney star, just as her former friends Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus had.
However, the "Heart Attack" singer has moved on from her friendships with both Disney stars, although there have been no signs of any ongoing feuds between Demi Lovato and each of the ladies.
"We're acquaintances," stated Demi Lovato when a fan asked her to describe her current relationship with Miley Cyrus on The TJ Show, according to E! News.
She added, "It's life, and people change. I don't have anything in common with her anymore. I wish her the best."
Although the two may have drifted apart, Lovato hasn't bashed Cyrus throughout the drastic changes that the "We Can't Stop" singer has gone through over the past couple years.
"Miley has been one of my best friends growing up so I'm happy for her," stated Lovato.
She continued, "She's doing what she wants to do and this is her time to break out and figure out, you know, what she wants to do in her career and her image and everything...I'm happy seeing her happy because I love her so much. And, you know, she doesn't care what people think, nor should she."
Lovato's change in her friendships may be due to her experience with drug and alcohol abuse. The actress is currently sober after reportedly being treated in 2010 while Cyrus has been making headlines for her partying ways, according to the media outlet Reality TV World.
Just as she did when explaining her friendship with Cyrus, Lovato made sure to remain neutral when confirming that she is no longer as close as to her former best friend Selena Gomez. Lovato has reportedly stopped following Gomez on social media.
"I think it's just one of those things where people change and people grow apart," stated Lovato.
