Marcos Maidna's next fight is being targeted for April or May 2015. The former WBA welterweight champion also believes that both of his fights against Floyd Mayweather opened up bigger opportunities for him.

Marcos Maidana's next fight has no named opponents as of this posting, but "El Chino's" camp does have some big names in mind.

In an interview with Ring TV Online, Maidana's manager Sebastian Contursi is looking at the best of the best at boxing's 147-pound division.

"There's Danny Garcia, Andre Berto, Amir Khan, Devon Alexander, Keith Thurman," Contursi said. "You know, all of them are there and next year, all of them could be potential opponents for Marcos."

The making of Marcos Maidana's next fight was not that easy, as the Argentine superstar's camp is more concerned about "El Chino" getting enough rest and time to spend with his family.

"Marcos is resting after an intense 10 months of fights and six months away from his family and a new baby born," Contursi explained. "I think that he deserves to rest a little bit. He's entitled to that."

Maidana fought reigning pound-for-pound boxing king Floyd "Money" Mayweather twice this year, with both fights ending by unanimous decision, in favor of Mayweather. Prior to the two bouts, he held an undefeated record, with a big win over Adrien Broner.

When asked about when he wants to return, Contursi gave a clear answer, as they are looking at the first half of 2015 for "El Chino's" comback. The fighter's manager also believes that given the two bouts he has had with boxing's current top fighter, it can only open up bigger opportunities.

"But his last fight was in September, so I would think that if a good opportunity arises, that he could return sometime in April or May; who knows?" Contursi added. "There's a lot of options and big opportunities for Marcos but it's up to him. We don't want to rush him. It's up to Marcos when he want to come back."
