Motorola Moto G Vs Nokia Lumia 630: Prices, Hardware, Design, And Specs! Which Smartphone Is The Better Buy?

Which smartphone is the right purchase for consumers? We compare the Motorola Moto G and the Nokia Lumia 630 to see which is the better buy.

In terms of design and display, the Nokia Lumia 630 has a removable plastic shell with soft touch, which doesn't stain easily, while the Motorola Moto G has its casing made of plastic also, but it’s rubberized and attracts fingerprints like a magnet. Both devices have almost the same height: the Moto G is 0.4 mm taller, but the Lumia 630 has the advantage to be slimmer at 9.2mm, while the Motorola device has a thickness of 11.6 mm. The Nokia Lumia 630 is also the first Windows smartphone with three capacitive screens.

Both devices have IPS LCD displays of 4.5 inches, but the Motorola device supports a higher pixel density of 720x1280 pixels with 326ppi. The Nokia smartphone has only 480x854 pixels and 218ppi.

For the hardware and OS, Both smartphones have used Qualcomm MSM8226 Snapdragon 400, which run with a quad core 1.2GHz Cortex-A7 processor and Adreno 305 graphics. The Motorola Moto G is faster because it’s packed with 1GB of RAM, while the Nokia Lumia 630 has half of its RAM capacity. The Nokia device will have minor problems when displaying animations and the Moto G has a bigger RAM. As for the internal memory, both host 8GB, but the Lumia 630 supports expansion up to 128GB, while the Moto G has another variant of 16GB which isn't expandable.

The Nokia device runs on Microsoft’s operating system, Windows Phone 8.1, while the Motorola device runs initially on v4.3 (Jelly Bean), and now it’s waiting to be upgraded to v5.0 (Lollipop).

For the battery and camera specs, the Motorola Moto G has a non-removable battery with the capacity of 2070mAh which claims to last one day when talking on the phone. The Nokia Lumia 630 has a 1830 mAh battery with 13 hours of talking time on 3G.

Both smartphones are equipped with 5MP rear cameras and are using a 1/4” CMOS sensor, the Nokia Lumia 630 has 28 mm f/2.4 lens, whereas the Motorola Moto G comes with 37 mm f/2.4 lens. The Nokia handset lacks some important manual controls. The Moto G comes with HDR and it applies it when it’s needed. When tested, the Lumia 630 took “oily” pictures which look unrealistic. The Moto G will give users more natural photos. In addition, the Moto G allows users to make video calls with the 1.3MP front camera, while the Lumia 630 lacks a secondary

The Nokia Lumia 630 cost $131 dollars, while the 8GB variant of the Motorola Moto G costs $160 and the 16GB variant is $20 more.
