The latest news on "Star Wars Episode 7" revealed a trailer release on iTunes, which is reportedly Disney's response to fans' disappointment that they won't see it on the large screen. Meanwhile, the platform chosen by the studio is deemed to be a terrible choice.
According to The Verge,Disney's move to reveal the "Star Wars Episode 7" trailer on "The Penguins of Madgascar" was a mistake, since the studio has done a good job so far of teasing Netizens on the film.
"It's a weird misstep for Disney and Lucasfilm, which so far have been successful in courting the internet at large," it said. "This strategy is ostensibly designed with the fans in mind, but by trying to use age-old promotional tactics, it's alienating a rather dedicated following, and more importantly, it's a slap in the face to those who care the most."
It's a good thing therefore that Disney and Lucasfilm reconsidered, according to the latest "Star Wars Episode 7" news, perhaps in response to the fans reactions on the Internet.
"Lucasfilm initially announced that you would have to head out to one of just 30 movie theaters in order to see the trailer, so this is a big change - and one that may even make a bigger impact," said The Verge.
The site is not clear whether or not revealing the "Star Wars Episode 7" trailer was part of the plan all along. "It's possible that the trailer is going up early in response to some fans' disappointment that they'd be unable to see it. No specific time was given for when the trailer will go online," it added.
The site Comic Book Movie, meanwhile, dished the good news about "Star Wars Episode 7" and that is they can watch it online probably on Friday. "The bad news however is that it will be via iTunes, a terrible site for trailer debuts in general, but at least there's a chance we'll be able to download it from the site in HD!"
