After admitting that it has been an "emotionally taxing" year, "The Good Wife" Season 6 cast Matt Czuchzy can now breathe a sigh of relief, or can he? Meanwhile, the actor hinted that Cary Agos' plea could change the direction of the show when it resumes airing in January.
"The Good Wife" cast Matt Czuchry, who is also included in People's Sexiest Man Alive list, said in an AP interview published on Mercury News that even his mother had noticed that he was walking like there's a huge weight on his shoulders.
"Everything has been very taxing in order to make these scenes believable and interesting, where the audience is really feeling what your character is going through," he said, explaining that his mother pointed out how he was bent over "because of the weight of what was going on."
Meanwhile, he said that Cary Agos' plea could be one of the seminal episodes which allows the show to change direction.
"You can kind of point to specific (episodes) where things fundamentally change with the characters ... and (there's an) overall ripple effect. I'll be interested to see what the audience thinks," he added.
In another interview with The Washington Post, he said: "This has been the most emotionally taxing season for me. Living in that head space for 10, 11, 12, 13 episodes has been incredibly emotionally taxing."
On the Cary Agos' guilty plea, he said that it's very significant game changer, "like at the end of Season Four, when Cary goes to Alicia and Alicia says 'I'm in' at the door [to start a new law firm]. Or splitting the firms in 'Hitting the Fan' in Season Five. Will Gardner's death. Or even going back to Season One, an episode called 'Hi,' that's the one that Archie won the Emmy for.
"The Good Wife" Season 6 cast Matt Czuchzy added that when storylines like Cary Agos' guilty plea come along, "there's movement forward with these characters; and as an actor, that's really exciting. And certainly, specifically for me with this storyline this season."
