Rise Of The Tomb Raider PS4 Release Date Will Not Happen Says Crystal Dynamics As They Reiterate The Game Is Strictly For Xbox One And Xbox 360

Bad news for PS4 gamers as the Rise of the Tomb Raider PS4 release date seems out of reach after Crystal Dynamics reaffirms that the new Tomb Raider game would be an Xbox exclusive.

Microsoft and Crystal Dynamics finally announced that Rise of the Tomb Raider will be coming exclusively on X360 and Xbox One. Many might be dissapointed but the next Tomb Raider game is now exclusive to Microsoft's platforms. PC gamers will be only getting the sequel to Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light this December, and that's it.

Crystal Dynamics' Darrell Gallagher tried to explain things:

"Today's announcement with Microsoft is one step to help us put Tomb Raider on top of action adventure gaming. Our friends at Microsoft have always seen huge potential in Tomb Raider and have believed in our vision since our first unveil with them on their stage at E3 2011. We know they will get behind this game more than any support we have had from them in the past - we believe this will be a step to really forging the Tomb Raider brand as one of the biggest in gaming, with the help, belief and backing of a major partner like Microsoft."

Just a few months ago, it appeared that the Rise of the Tomb Raider will be a cross-gen title; which means that the game will be available for the Next-Gen consoles as well as the Last-Gen consoles. The rumor of the Rise of the Tomb Raider being developed for Last-Gen consoles was put to rest when Amazon listed Rise of the Tomb Raider for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 alongside the Next-Gen consoles. But now, fans can only expect the game to arrive on Xbox 360.

Many people thought that the Last-Gen consoles will die out in 2015 but developers have stayed true to their promise and are still developing games for the Last-Gen consoles.
