Which device is worth the purchase? The Samsung Galaxy S5, The Galaxy Note 3, or the Oneplus One.

For the design and display, the OnePlus One comes with a LTPS LCD display of 5.5 inches that supports the same resolution as its rivals: 1080x1920pixels, but has a pixel density 401ppi. The Samsung devices on the other hand come with Super AMOLED displays, but the Galaxy S5’s screen is at 5.1inches and a pixel density of 432ppi, while the Galaxy Note 3 has a 5.7 inches display with 386ppi. The OnePlus One and the Galaxy Note 3 have their screens protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3, while the Galaxy S5 has only one resistant to dust and water, and has a fingerprint sensor.

The Galaxy S5 is the lightest device between the three (weighing 145 grams), while its dimensions are 142×72.5×8.1 mm, the OnePlus One is 17 grams heavier and measures 152.9×75.9×8.9mm and the Galaxy Note 3 the heaviest among the three, weighing 168 grams and measures 151.2×79.2×8.3 mm.

For the hardware and OS, Both companies have chosen the Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801 chipset to power up the OnePlus One and Samsung Galaxy S5. They’re equipped with the same quad core 2.5GHz Krait 400 processor and they use an Adreno 330 GPU. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 on the other hand has quad core processor of 2.3GHz Krait 400, based on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset and it also uses an Adreno 330 GPU.

The Galaxy Note has 3GB of RAM and an internal storage of 16/32/64 GB of internal storage (the 16 and 32GB variants are expandable up to 64GB) and the phablet runs on the Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) OS, but users can upgrade it to v4.4.2 (KitKat). The OnePlus One has also 3GB of RAM, but ha 16/64 GB of internal storage, unexpandable. Lastly, the Galaxy S5 has 2GB of RAM and 16/32 GB of built in storage, but it supports microSD card slots for expansion up to 128GB.

For the battery and camera specs, the Samsung Note 3 has the biggest battery among the three, with a capacity of 3,200mAh. The OnePlus One has a 3,100mAh battery, and the Samsung S5 has a 2,800mAh battery.

The OnePlus One has a 13MP Sony BSI rear camera which uses Exmor RS technology, and some of the features include autofocus, dual-LED flash, face detection etc. The Galaxy Note 3 has also a 13MP camera, but with single LED flash, while the Galaxy S5 has 16MP ISOCELL primary camera with 1/2.6 sensor size and 1.12 µm pixel size. The front camera on the OnePlus One is 5MP , while both Samsung devices have 2MP secondary cameras.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 16GB dual-SIM variant cost around $950 on amazon.com. The Galaxy S516GB variant costs $580, while the OnePlus One 16GB is at $299.
