Beginning with the OS, Sony Xperia Z2 has been upgraded from Android 4.4.2 to Android 4.4.4. Sony Mobile has announced that Z2 is included in Sony Xperia Z series phones that will be upgraded to Android Lollipop - but not soon.
Lucky for LG G3 as the Android L update is already rolling out in Korea, according to LG Electronics. It is safe to expect that users in other regions can get the Android upgrade soon.
Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, said "LG is absolutely committed to giving our customers the best mobile experiences available and bringing Android Lollipop to G3 owners as soon as possible is a top priority. The new features and improvements in Android 5.0 will bring a whole new user experience to the G3 and make it even better than it already is."
Sony Xperia Z2 vs. LG G3: Checking the displays of both phones, Z2 screen measures 5.2 inches while G3 screen is slightly bigger at 5.5 inches. G3 has higher display resolution as well - 1440 x 2560 pixels with 538ppi. Z2 has 1080 x 1920 pixels with 424ppi.
LG G3 back camera is packed with 13 megapixels while Xperia Z2 stands out with its 20.7-megapixel rear camera. G3 and Z2's front-facing cameras have 2.1 and 2.2 megapixels, respectively.
Both flagship smartphones are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 801. However, G3's processor stands out from Z2 - quad core, 2500 MHz, Krait 400 vs. quad core, 2300 MHz, Krait 400.
LG G3 and Xperia Z2 hold the same system memory - 3072 MB RAM - but they differ in built-in storage. LG G3 has higher internal storage with 32GB. Z2 only has 6GB.
