It looks like new updates for Rockstar game's juggernaut video game franchise, Grand Theft Auto 6 have been revealed.
TheFuseJoplin has reported that Rockstar games will likely announce a beta test for GTA 6. Many GTA fans believe that Rockstar will run a beta phase for the upcoming GTA 6 in order to come with the best GTA product at the release date, rather then having a game full of bugs.
Running a Beta phase in a game helps a lot the developers, as the players will discover bugs, errors and they will report them to Rockstar, but at the same time, players’ feedback can help them a lot on understanding where they are doing wrong.
BREATHCast.com reports that Rockstar is currently busy updating GTA Online, but the website hinted that Grand Theft Auto 6 might take place in Vice City according to a statement by Rockstar Games presdent Leslie Benzies.
“We’ve got about 45 years worth of ideas we want to do. We don’t know what GTA 6 will be, but we’ve got some ideas.”
“Of course at some point we would like to have one big world containing all our cities and let the player fly between them and revisit their favorite areas. In that context re-imagining Vice City would be very interesting.”
Benzies added that Vice City was a setting that Rockstar wants to revisit in the next-gen consoles. However, he stated that Vice City was as much about the era as it was the setting.
“Miami in the 1980’s is so iconic it would feel strange to revisit the city in a different time period.”
It was reported before that GTA 6 will take place in Liberty City again and rumor has it that the game will not just have one location in mind, but four locations will be added. GTA developers cited Paris, London, Brazil, and Las Vegas (possibly named Las Venturas) as potential location inspirations.
However, GTA V writer Dan Houser confirmed that the next GTA game won’t be in London just like in the first GTA game in 1999 titled “Grand Theft Auto: London 1969”, and would possibly rule out Paris, Brazil, and Las Vegas as well.
Houser further revealed that GTA 6 might have a “female” lead character instead of male, if the setting and situation was suitable.
“In the future, could we do a game with a lead female character? Of course, we just haven’t found the right game for it yet, but it’s one of the things that we always think about.”
The Fuse Joplin reported before that the sixth installment of Grand Theft Auto is set on June 2017. However, a Rockstar employee took to Reddit and confirmed that The GTA 6 release date on June 2017 is nothing more than a rumor as Rockstar is currently working on a different game.
Cyberland has reported that the GTA 6 is tentatively set on October 2017.
