Which smartphone worth the purchase? We compare the Samsung Galaxy Core and the Nokia X to see which is the better buy.

In terms of design and display, the Nokia X has a IPS LCD display measuring 4 inches and renders a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. It's dimensions are: 115.5 x 63 x 10.4 mm and weighs 128.7 grams.

Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy Core has slightly bigger TFT display, measuring 4.3 inches and renders the same screen resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. It is thinner (dimensions: 129.3 x 67.6 x 9 mm) as lighter (weight: 124 grams) than its competitor.

For hardware and OS, the Nokia X has a dual core processor (the Cortex A5) working at 1 GHz that comes along with a Snapdragon S4 Play MSM8225 chipset from Qualcomm. It has a 512MB of RAM with 4GB of internal storage (there is microSD card slot meaning that the memory is not expandable) and it runs on the Android Jelly Bean.

The Samsung Galaxy Core has a dual core as well (the Cortex A5) but this one works at 1.2 GHz. The chipset included in the package is the same as the Nokia X: Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 Play MSM8225. It has a bigger RAM: 1GB and also comes with more internal storage space (8 GB). This device features a microSD slot, meaning that you can expand your internal memory by up to 64GB. It runs on the Android Jelly Bean.

For battery usage and camera specs, the Nokia X has a less powerful battery, a Li-Ion with a capacity of 1500 mAh, but it can actually last more than the Samsung device for about 10 hours of talking time (3G).

The Samsung Galaxy Core has a Li-Ion battery unit with a capacity of 1800 mAh that can last up to 9 hours of talking time (3G).

The Samsung Galaxy Core has a 5MP rear-facing camera (LED flash + autofocus) and a VGA front-facing camera, whiley the Nokia X has a 3.15MP main camera, but does not have a front camera.

The Samsung Galaxy Core cost $176.96, while the Nokia X is around $130.00.
