Ray Rice, who was suspended from the NFL after a vide of him assaulting his wife, Janay Rice, surfaced, won his appeal against the National Football League on Friday and thousands of fantasy football players reportedly expect him to be back on the field before the end of the year, according to Newsweek.
Fantasy football players aren't the only ones awaiting the return of Ray Rice, as four teams, including the New Orleans Saints, have reportedly shown interest in picking up Rice since winning the appeal.
Ray Rice has reportedly gathered over 230,000 adds to fantasy teams, according to Yahoo Transaction Trends, and also became the most drafted player in fantasy football on Friday.
Further details of Ray Rice's relationship with Janay Rice have surfaced after the football player's wife made an appearance on the "Today Show" after a long silence during the appeals process.
"Ray knows me, and they're no way. He knows what he would have to deal with. I'm not going to sit there in silence and let something happen to me. And God forbid, in front of my child, just let it happen? There's no way," stated Janay Rice during her interview with Matt Lauer when asked if she had been hit by Ray Rice before, according to CNN.
The video of the assault that was released reportedly showed the 200-pound football player knock his then-fiancee out, then drag her partially out of the elevator and dump her body on the ground.
"He said he was just terrified," stated Janay Rice in the interview.
She added, "He was in such shock that this just happened, he didn't know how to function."
Ray Rice and his wife were reportedly both initially charged with simple assault. Despite the shocking incident, Janay Rice reportedly stated that her husband's actions that February night were "mistakes."
"Everybody makes mistakes. After this whole situation, you would think that we lived in a country full of people who never made a mistake," stated Janay Rice.
