"Community" season 6 has already begun filming!
New episodes of the comedy series is expected to air on Yahoo Screen during the first few months of 2015.
The pilot episode will be directed by "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" directors Joe and Anthony Russo.
Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Ken Jeong and Jim Rash have all been confirmed to return to the show. Paget Brewster and Keith David, on the other hand will join in the wacky crew in the upcoming run
"Yeah, we're not brainstorming a lot of jokes that are going to be like, 'Oh, this will be hilarious because it'll be a metaphor for Yahoo taking over Greendale,' or whatever. We're not above going down that road sometimes. If we come with an idea that really resonates with us, then we end up realizing that it resonates with us because we sort of are Greendale, and we are in a new situation. It's just as much cause for celebration as it is for concern to somebody who is a frantic, rabid fan," show creator Dan Harmon shared.
Meanwhile, season 6 might not be the most exciting news for fans. Others are starting to speculate that Abed's "six seasons and a movie" reference will be true for the show in real life.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Sony president of programming Zack Van Amburg, might have hinted on making the movie.
"There's no way we're not making the movie now. I think once we make the movie, let's look up and decide how much more Community the world wants. We promised six seasons and a movie, how much more do you want?... I'd be lying if I told you that we have not had some very early and preliminary conversations that are very exciting about what a potential movie could be and who might direct it," he said.
"Community" was cancelled by NBC after its fifth season, but was resurrected after Yahoo Screen confirmed to airing season 6 in 2015.
