The "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie won't be earning from one person's pockets as Melanie Griffith has confirmed that she won't be watching the movie on the request of daughter Dakota Johnson, who plays Anastasia Steele.
The TMZ chanced upon the former "Body Double" star while stepping out of Madeo on Tuesday night.
"I was wondering are you interested in seeing the "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie," the cameraman asked her. "Will you be seeing it?"
"No, I will not be seeing it," the 57-year-old actress said. "Well because my daughter doesn't want me to, and I don't think ti would be appropriate"
This wasn't the first time that Melanie Griffith revealed that her daughter has banned her from watching the film.
"[Dakota] was like, 'You guys cannot come. There's no way.' So we're not going," Melanie Griffith said, according to IndieWire.
Interestingly, Melanie Griffith has never been shy about being nude in films as she was topless in "Forever Lulu" in 2000 when she was already 42 years old, although it was also suggested that it was probably a body double. But her first foray into sexy films was when she was just 17 years old with the movie "Night Moves" back in 1975. A year later, she posed for Playboy in the nude.
Previous "Fifty Shades of Grey" news reports, however, have hinted that the sex scenes are not going to be graphic in order to avoid earning an R rating and to make the movie appeal to as wide an audience as possible.
This was confirmed by Jamie Dornan (Christian Grey) who told GQ Magazine, as reported by Yahoo Movies' "Fifty Shades of Grey" news, who said that it will not go into porn territory. "They can't alienate an audience. You know it has to be watchable. It can't be hardcore. I wouldn't have signed up to it if it was," he said. "You've got to make something a large amount of people can go and see. It's not going to be grotesque."
