Benedict Cumberbatch has been getting all kinds of offers for movies and plays lately. Thanks to all these things on his schedule, however, production for "Sherlock" season 4 has become a nightmare to set.
After some delays and schedule discussions, Stephen Moffat and Mark Gatiss were finally able to pin down Cumberbatch and the equally busy Martin Freeman (who plays Dr. John Watson) for filming of "Sherlock" season 4.
BBC even promised a Christmas special for 2016. The fourth season, consisting of three episodes, will be aired in 2017.
Nevertheless, being busy means the British heartthrob's career is currently soaring. The question, though, is whether he still has the motivation to portray the modernized version of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's famous character for future seasons?
"If we keep the quality up," "The Imitation Game" star told Vogue during an interview. "I can't imagine that I will ever get tired of being Sherlock. I'd love to play him as an old man."
Cumberbatch has a penchant for rich characters to play. He actually just loves acting in general.
"I really, really love my job," the recently engaged actor revealed to the fashion magazine. "I love sets. I love crews. I love theaters. I love audiences."
Fans can rest assured that the "Penguins Of Madagascar" voice actor will keep filming new movies, and new "Sherlock" episodes, as well as stand on more theatrical stages.
Seeing as his future wife, Sophie Hunter, is a theatre director herself, there seems to be no problem for him to march on with his career. Furthermore, according to Cumberbatch, the Oxford graduate is very proud of her fiancé.
"She's proud of my work, she's proud of me, and she loves me. That's the bottom line, isn't it?" He gushed in a previous interview. "It could be a really difficult thing, but she's just so in command of it."
With Benedict Cumberbatch's passion for acting, he definitely do a good job for "Sherlock" season 4 even with a wedding to plan, a rumored baby to come, and several movies lined up for him to act in.
