Bill Cosby's Hollywood Walk of Fame star was reportedly vandalized on Thursday night, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce said Friday, according to TIME.
The vandalization of Bill Cosby's Hollywood Walk of Fame star seems to be a representation of the 77-year-old comedian's quickly deteriorating career.
As over 20 women have come forward with sexual assault allegations against Bill Cosby, shows for his stand up tour have reportedly been canceled as well as projects with both NBC and Netflix. Despite the surprisingly warm welcome "The Cosby Show" star received during his show in Florida, the actor has clearly become someone that cannot be trusted by former fans.
Cosby's star was reportedly vandalized with the word "rapist" written multiple times on the landmark, according to a photo posted today by a Houston TV station.
"When people are unhappy with one of our honorees, we would hope that they would project their anger in more positive ways then to vandalize a California State landmark," stated a spokeswoman for the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, in a statement.
The statement continued, "The star is being cleaned up at this time."
The news of the recent vandalization comes after the U.S. Navy reportedly announced Thursday that it was stripping Bill Cosby of his honorary title of Chief Petty Officer, which was granted in 2011, according to the NY Daily News.
"The Navy is taking this action because allegations against Mr. Cosby are very serious and are in conflict with the Navy's core values of honor, courage and commitment," the Navy said in a statement.
Cosby has continued to remain silent regarding the sexual assault allegations, only thanking his supporters, Whoopi Goldberg and Jill Scott, on Twitter.
