Movie adaptation of Tonya Hurley's "Ghostgirl" arriving next year!
The synopsis of "Ghostgirl" of Tonya Hurley according to The Wrap, "In ghostgirl, high school senior Charlotte Usher feels invisible at school, and then one day she really is. Even worse - she's dead... and all because of a guy and a gummy bear. Described by MARV Films as satirical yet heartfelt, ghostgirl explores the invisibility we all feel at time and the lengths we'll go to to be seen."
The writer of the said YA novel, Hurley, has written several follow-ups to the original "Ghostgirl" including the novels "Ghostgirl: Homecoming" and "Ghostgirl: Lovesick." Vaughn's company MARVS got the rights to the whole series. If the first movie adaptation works out, there are some ready-made sequels could easily follow.
Matteh Vaughn known for his movies "Kick-Ass," "X-Men: First Class" and the upcoming "Kingsman: The Secret Service," which is currently in post-production. "Ghostgirl" of Tonya Hurley movie adaptation is set to launch on January 27, 2015 at the Sundance Film Festival before opening on February 12 in the UK and Australia and on February 13 in the US.
"Kick-Ass" director and Valerie Van Galder will co-produce the "Ghostgirl." They first worked together on "Snatch," then reunited on "Kick-Ass" when Van Galder served as consultant.
Meanwhile, the writer of YA novel Hurley said, "I am beyond thrilled to have ghostgirl in the hands of such creative, capable and passionate filmmakers.
