Maybe spending a night to watch a novel-based crime comedy drama film titled as "Inherent Vices" won't be a waste of time. Although its still Thomas Pynch's first novel to have a film adaptation, its potential on gaining audiences won't be an uplifted battle due to its storyline, which is a great combination of drama, action, comedy and slight romance.
Inherent Vice starred Joaquin Phoenix as Larry "Doc" Sportello, a private investigator with killer sideburns, The movie is set in 70's era Los Angeles and stars a vast range of well chosen actors in a story that claims to have numerous plot twists and turns, It is also starred by Benicio del Toro, Josh Brolin, Owen Wilson and Maya Rudolph. The movie, Inherent Vice would greatly-contribute to a double deal with Dan Gilroy's forthcoming modern- day L.A. crime comedy/thriller filmed titled as Nightcrawler. Based on its recently-released trailer for Inherent Vice, it seems to embody an indifferent type of dark humor with an added retro shift to that of the Nightcrawler trailers.
