Which smartphone is the ideal choice for consumers? We compare the iPhone 5C and the HTC Desire 601 to see which is better.
For the design and display, the HTC Desire 601 has a Corning Gorilla Glass 2, a 4.5 inch TFT screen that supports a resolution of 540x960pixels at 245ppi. It is 9.9mm thick, 134.5 mm tall, 66.7mm wide and weighs 130 grams.
The iPhone 5C has a 4inches LED-backlit IPS LCD with a resolution of 640x1136pixels and it supports 326ppi. Its dimensions are 124.4×59.2x9 mm and it’s 2 grams heavier.
For the hardware and OS, the HTC Desire 601 has a dual core 1.4GHz processor, based on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset and it uses an Adreno 305 GPU. It has an internal memory of 1GB of Ram and 8GB, which extends up to 64GB and runs on the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS, upgradable to the 4.4.2 (KitKat), and has HTC Sense UI 5.0.
The iPhone 5C has a dual core 1.3GHz Swift (ARM v7-based) paired up with the Apple A6 chipset and a PowerVR SGX 543MP3 (triple-core graphics) GPU. It also hosts 1GB of RAM and it comes in three variants: 8/16/32 GB. It runs on the iOS 7, which is upgradeable to iOS 7.1.2 and the iOS 8 soon.
For battery and camera specs, the HTC Desire 616 has a Li-Po 2100mAh battery that lasts 440 hours in stand by mode and allows users to talk around 13 hours on 3G. The iPhone 5C has a non-removable Li-Po 1510mAh battery, that allows users to talk only 10 hours on 3G and 250 hours in stand by mode.
The iPhone 5C has a primary camera with a resolution of 8MP and it features autofocus, LED flash, 1/3.2” sensor size, 1.4µm pixel size, HDR panorama and photo, HD video and image recording at 1080p@30fps. There is also a 1.2MP camera on the front. The HTC only has a 5MP primary camera and VGA front camera.
The HTC Desire 616 costs $296, while the iPhone 5C 16GB variant cost $505 and 32GB variant is at $563.
