McDonald's Popularity: Why Is The World's Biggest Fast Food Chain Famous Among Households?

Eric Scholosser did a study examining two of the most popular fast food chain globally, McDonalds and Carl's Jr.

Creative thinker tycoons brought America powerfully prepared meals at prices low enough to make the food inexpensive to all. Schlosser also knowledgeably investigates into the structure and contributors of the whole industry, from the meatpackers and potato farmers to the franchisees and corporate marketers. The study endeavours are well deserving of praise. The objectives of Schollosser in writing this book is to let the readers be aware of how the in-bed fast-food marketers have become with our public schools, with the schools pimping junk food to students in order to raise revenue. He thinks that the consumers should be aware of the health of their children for the tax dollars that should be going into their schools. A consumer was asked, what he thinks about McDonald's popularity, here is what he said, in www.city-data.com:

"Is the advertising? Convenience? Because people crave Big Macs?

I am just curious, because I pass four McDonald's locations on my way to and from work and each location is always busy. Three of the restaurants have double drive thru lanes, and the lines get so long that they back up to the street.

Several of my coworkers come in to work every single morning carrying a McDonald's sack and a cup of coffee. At lunchtime the same people head to McDonald's for a sandwich and fries. The trash cans at our office are full of McDonald's bags and cups.

It's not because McDonald's is the only restaurant available. Near each McDonald's location is a Burger King, Wendy's, Arby's and Taco Bell. Besides these fast food restaurants there are also sandwich shops like Jimmy Johns, Blimpie and Quiznos. Qdoba, Chipotle, and Penn Station are also nearby."

People have choice in what they buy to eat and people as a nation have forgotten how to cook healthy inexpensive meals. People forgot how to cook period! Parents were depression babies who grew up making their own soup stock from bones, eating balanced whole meals, and not wasting precious money on unhealthy fast food and junk food. Schlosser wisely ends his book with an appeal to all to stop eating so much fast food. This is the ultimate message of the book and one worthy of all of our support.
