The Metal Gear Solid live action movie is in the works and there are three actors in talks of playing Solid Snake, namely Manu Bennett, Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman!
According to the reports over at IMDB, the Metal Gear Solid live action movie production crew is looking at three actors to play the role of Solid Snake. Manu Bennett, Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman are reportedly in talks of playing Solid Snake.
It is surprising that Kiefer Sutherland is not being considered for the role and even in the movie himself despite voicing Snake (Big Boss) in the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain and in the recent game Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes.
Long time voice actor of Solid Snake, David Hayter will not be involved in the project.
According to IGN, David Hayer sent in a draft of the story of the Metal Gear Solid live action movie but his treatment was eventually rejected by the studio.
He is currently encouraging fans to contact the producers, in the hope that they will reconsider his treatment.
In late August 2012, Konami issued a press release stating that a live-action film was in in pre-production. The film is being produced by Avi Arad, with their production company Arad Productions as well as Columbia Pictures. Distribution and production will be handled by Sony Pictures Entertainment. At the announcement, Avi Arad stated that "for many years I fought to bring comics to theaters and video games are the comics of today. We will take our time and tell the story with all the nuances, ideology, cautionary tales needed."
Hideo Kojima will be the executive producer of the film and he will write the story along with David Goyer as revealed by the reports on IMDB.
