iPad Mini Glitch Rumor, Apple To Focus On 12-inch iPad Pro And Drop 7" Phablet
iPad Mini Glitch Rumor. After Apple's 2014 October iPad keynote, there were serious doubts about the future of the iPad Mini since the Cupertino, California tech giant was preparing to unveil the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus with the latter sporting a 5.5" phablet screen. The rationale was that Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) may stop manufacturing the 7-inch iPad Mini.
But rumors of discontinuing the iPad mini turned out to be false since Apple Inc. decided to go ahead with a third generation device, iPad Mini 3.

Taiwan's Economic Daily News reported recently that the iPad mini 3 would be Apple's last 7-inch tablets. Apart from the overlap with the iPhone Plus 6, the premier tech firm is planning to focus on the touted Apple 12-inch iPad Pro.
Apple Inc. is is expected to stop production on the iPad mini to focus on its upcoming rumored iPad Pro in light of the release of iPhone 6 Plus.
This is no surprise since Apple ignored iPad Air 2 following the unveiling of a new device in October.
Additionally, there was little interest in the 7-inch iPad until the unveiling of the the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 release.
"But don't forget, Apple did decide to keep all three generations of the iPad mini around to give customers multiple price options. This seems to suggest that the iPad mini isn't going away anytime soon. Although Apple could decide to keep the iPad mini around just for the upcoming 2014 holiday shopping season, then discontinue it when it launches the iPad Pro in early 2015. If this happens, the original iPad Air would then become Apple's cheapest tablet option at $399," reports the iPadGuide.
