The “Finding Dory” movie has caused quite a bit of buzz after it was announced that the sequel to “Finding Nemo” would be released in the first place.
Although there had been speculation that the “Finding Dory” movie would be released in 2015, it has been revealed that the film will be released on June 17, 2016, according to Voxxi.com.
Surprisingly, Dory’s story reportedly won’t be taking place in the ocean but in another aquatic location, although some of the action is set to take place in their natural setting, according to the website. The majority of the “Finding Dory” movie will take place at the Marine Biology Institute of California, which is where Dory was born and raised before she was released into the wild, stated Pixar President Jim Morris when he recently spoke at the Comic-Con Experience in Brazil.
“Finding Dory” is reportedly set several months after the events in “Finding Nemo” as the film will show Marlin, Nemo and Dory living together on the same reef. Dory accompanies Nemo on a school field trip when memories of her past and family are triggered, according to The Huffington Post.
Ellen DeGeneres and Albert Brooks will reportedly be returning to voice Dory and Marlin while Dory’s father, Charlie, will be voiced by Eugene Levy. Dory’s mother, Jenny, will reportedly be voiced by Diane Keaton.
Ty Burrell will be lending his voice to a Beluga whale named Bailey. There will also be some “extras” in the film that will make an appearance in the form of sea lions and an octopus.
Ellen DeGeneres had previously announced the exciting news of “Finding Dory” on her talk show.
