Searching for an old Facebook posts is now easier than before.

The Social Networking Site updated its search in a significant way, Monday that permits users to search old posts of friends from months and years past. The feature has already started rolling out to the desktop and iPhone APP. The firm has not said when it will be in Android and Google Play updates.

Here's how the new search features work for a spin using the iOS:

Facebook searches are according to keywords in the post, so it will work best if the users know of the specific type of post or topic they are searching for.

According to a Facebook log post,

We took the new search features for a spin on iOS to see how it works:

"With a quick search, you can get back to a fun video from your graduation, a news article you've been meaning to read, or photos from your friend's wedding last summer,"

Meaning, if the users can recall the keywords like, "HBO Movies," a link on the specific keyword that his or her friends posted will appear, they can just key-in their name and "HBO Movies" in the search bar.

Significantly, search results are not showed in a orderly manner, so they may have to scroll down a little it more to search the post they are searching for. However, they can always tweak the types of results that appear y filtering the search posts, pages, events, groups, apps or images. According to the Facebook blog,

"If I wanted to find photos of cats I had posted on Facebook, for example, I would search my name and "cats" and then select "photos."

It is valuable to point out the searches applied to the same privacy settings as the entire app. If the user set a photo or post to friends only, for instance, they only the user's friends can see those posts in a search.
