Cortana is scheduled to arrive on Windows desktops in the following months. And while there still unresolved issues from its earlier builds, the people from Microsoft are trying their best not to reveal its secrets to the public.

Just last week, a WinBeta published a video of Cortana in its early builds. More recently, some screenshots of Cortana have been leaked. These just shows an overview on how the personal assistant would function on one's PC once it finally becomes available to the public.

In the screenshots provided by Neowin, Cortana would most likely retain all of the features that it has on Windows Phone. However, there are rumors that these features still have to undergo a lot of polishing in the months to come.

Cortana should become avalable to all desktop users once Microsoft announces the Consumer Preview build for Windows 10.

For now, Cortana is limited to perform simple tasks such as weather forecasting, setting up reminders, as well as configuring an alarm. Apart from the limited functionality, it also has several bugs that causes the program to become unstable and crash very frequently.

Like other applications, Cortana requires user permission to utilize your microphone and location.
As for the confidentiality of its development, Microsoft continues to test the personal assistant discretely to prevent further leaks from happening.

Cortana will first become available in English only. However, Microsoft definitely try to make this personal assistant available in other languages. Cortana on Windows Phone was recently released in Germany, Italy, France, and in Spain. The software comes as an alpha build for devices signed up to the Preview for Developers program.

Furthermore, Cortana should be ready for the stable version of Windows 10. According to Microsoft's own statements, it should arrive in late summer 2015 or early fall.

Most of the details on Cortana should be revealed in April 2015 at the BUILD conference, where a developer preview of Windows 10 could also be presented.
