Shia LaBeouf is apparently a cannibal, at least according to Rob Cantor. The musician's song and accompanying music video, called "Shia LaBeouf," continues to go viral. The amazing, hilarious, and disturbing musical based on a twisted scenario paints LaBeouf as an "actual cannibal...living in the woods/killing for sport." Check out the hilarious viral video below!
Although the song was released over 2 years ago, the music video brings new life to the odd hit. Featuring the West Los Angeles Children's Choir, the Gay Men's Chorus, a band of acrobats, aerialists, contemporary dancers, and men wearing giant Shia LaBeouf masks, the Rob Cantor song even gets a stamp of approval for LaBeouf himself. Appearing at the end of the music video, as he stands and claps awkwardly, his appearance is the cherry on top to the weird trip that encapsulates all that is Shia.
As MTV reports, "Watch out, it would appear that The Beef is hungry...for human flesh. In Rob Cantor's "Shia LaBeouf," the comedian tells the tale of the titular actor turned straight up cannibal."
"The monologue/song/spoken-word-poetry/your new pick for the theme song for your TV show describes "Hollywood superstar Shia LaBeouf" killing for sport, living in the woods, being an "actual cannibal." No mention of his metamarathon or Broadway butt-grabbing antics, but you can't have it all," continues MTV.
Shia LaBeouf has certainly had a change of spirits since his "Even Stevens" Disney days. But its nice to see that the actor can also make light of his off-kilter behavior.
"The video ends with the toppling of "cannibal" LaBeouf, who is defeated with an ax to the head. As the masked men fall to the ground, the camera pans to the audience, revealing the "Fury" star taking in the show. Clad in a tuxedo, the bearded actor gives his hearty approval with a standing ovation," explains the New York Daily News.
But what ever inspired this strange fantasy? Could Shia LaBeouf indeed be a cannibal?
A weirdo, certainly. But a cannibal, only in our collective imaginations - with a little help from quirky genius Rob Cantor.
According to Mashable, "the inspiration for the song came from a friend of his who was dramatically and repeatedly whispering "Shia LaBeouf" one day. "He was being random, and it made us both laugh. The whole cannibal-prowling-the-woods thing grew out of Andrew's dramatic whisper," said Cantor. The whole thing seems to be satirizing performance art in general and the frenzy surrounding LaBeouf's actions in recent months."
Planned over four months, the video featured 161 people and was shot in one day. It was definitely worth it for Rob Cantor and his crew.
"I hope you enjoy it as much as he did," expressed Cantor on his Facebook page, in reference to Shia.
