A former "America's Next Top Model" contestant is reportedly suing the host of the said reality show Tyra Banks for $3 million. She claims she was improperly denied a top prize because she used to be an escort.
This former contestant is Angelea Preston. City News Service said she filed the breach-of-contract last Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court against Banks, who is the show's executive producer, and The CW network.
According to the lawsuit, the contestant won the show's Cycle 17 in 2011 and was entitled to a package that included a $100,000 contract with CoverGirl cosmetics and a magazine fashion spread.
Her claimed said she was wrongly disqualified because she had worked as an escort before taking part in the show.
Meanwhile, Jezbel reported that during Cycle 12, the contestant was eliminated but the show brought her back for Cycle 14 where she was again eliminated before the finale. The show brought her back again for a third time, for Cycle 17's All Stars episode. She made the final three. However, during the judging panel she was mysteriously "disqualified."
As you can see in the video, one judged mentions that their production team and the network CW learned information from Angelea that made her disqualified for the final judgement.
It's not actually clear what made this contestant to be disqualified.
