The “South Park” holiday episode was quite an event, featuring stars, including Al Pacino, Iggy Azalea, Miley Cyrus, Bill Cosby and Taylor Swift.
The star-studded episode managed to bring in both the pop-cultural and political events of 2014 as well, evident from the presence of the South Park police force, which didn’t really know how to handle African-Americans, according to CNN.
“Did you choke him?,” Sgt. Yates asked in the holiday episode.
He added, “Did you shoot him?”
The officers’ inability to handle African-Americans in the world of South Park is seen to be referencing the recent Ferguson and Eric Garner cases. The joke was reportedly later repeated.
The “South Park” holiday episode also tackled the rape allegations surrounding Bill Cosby, as Taylor Swift and “The Cosby Show” star are seen sitting on a couch together holding a glass of wine. Bill Cosby had reportedly been accused of drugging and raping women over the past three decades, according to the NY Daily News.
Twitter users have posted praise about the “South Park” holiday episode, titled “The Washington Redskins Go F*** Yourself Holiday Special.”
The writers of “South Park” also tackled the buzz over Iggy Azalea’s buttocks, which spoke in the episode. As expected from a “South Park” episode, there were a few cringeworthy moments as well, including a Kurt Cobain hologram singing with a shotgun.
