Seth Rogen and James Franco's new movie "The Interview" had been surrounded with controversy when the plot was revealed.
Despite the controversy, Seth Rogen is positive about "The Interview" and used the premiere of his new film to thank Sony Pictures Entertainment co-chairman Amy Pascal for having the courage "to make this movie," according to UT San Diego.
Rogen reportedly addressed the audience at the screening on Thursday in downtown Los Angeles.
"The Interview" is reportedly about an assassination attempt on North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. The controversial plot has reportedly brought on speculation that North Korea was behind the recent Sony hack, which revealed email exchanges between top movie executives and producers.
Amy Pascal reportedly apologized on Thursday for the leaked emails that contain offensive jokes as well as negative comments regarding actors and actresses.
Pascal reportedly stated that the email exchanges were "insensitive and inappropriate," according to USA Today.
"But [they] are not an accurate reflection of who I am. Although this was a private communication that was stolen, I accept full responsibility for what I wrote and apologize to everyone who was offended," wrote Pascal.
Kevin Hart, who was reportedly called a "whore" by Screen Gems president Clint Culpepper, responded to what was said about him.
"Knowing your self worth is extremely important people...I worked very hard to get where I am today. I look at myself as a brand and because of that I will never allow myself to be taken advantage of," wrote Hart, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
He added, "I OWN MY BRAND...I MAKE SMART DECISIONS FOR MY BRAND... which is why I'm able to brush ignorance off of my shoulder and continue to move forward. I refuse to be broken people...with that being said it's now time for me to get back to building this empire that I've always dreamed of!!!"
Angelina Jolie, who was called a "minimally talented spoiled brat," also got the chance to respond to the emails when she came face to face with Amy Pascal. Photos have surfaced with Jolie staring blankly at Pascal as she attempts to embrace the "Unbroken" star, according to the U.K.'s The Independent.
