Taylor Swift’s new album “1989” has remained on the Billboard 200 for five consecutive weeks as each of the gems on the album are getting the love they deserve, according to Billboard.
As every popular pop song does, one of Taylor Swift’s hits from “1989,” “Blank Space,” now has its own parody that has even been approved by Britney Spears, according to Pop Dust.
Maybe it’s the fact that Britney Spears is a mother of two boys, but the pop princess seems to have taken a liking to the parody “mom” version of “Blank Space,” which she posted on her Twitter account along with the caption, “This one goes out to all the moms out there.. and all the Starbucks lovers.”
Although the parody is hilarious and rather amazing, the original second single from “1989” still remains far more popular as it reportedly continues to stand at No. 1 on the sales/streaming/airplay Hot 100 list this week. The track has reportedly gotten 245,000 downloads, 12 million U.S. streams and 131 radio audience impressions thus far.
Unlike her previous album, Taylor Swift decided to go “pop” with this new album and it seems she’s getting everyone’s approval for it.
“I followed my gut instinct and tried not to think about how hard it would be to break it to country radio. I love those people — I didn’t want to break anyone’s heart,” stated the 25-year-old singer.
She added, “I put more thought into how to unveil this album because I knew we were shifting gears creatively. It was a more word-of-mouth way of setting it up. My fans went out and proved to the world that they still believe in investing in an album.”
