With Han Ji Hye's tears, 'May Queen' set a new ratings high for itself.
According to AGB Nielson Media Research, 'May Queen' recorded 18.9% on the 13th.
The ratings for 'May Queen' rose 1.5% as it recorded 17.4% last week on the 7th. It broke its own record and kept first place in its timeslot. 'May Queen' broke 20% when measuring just the metropolitan areas. The drama reached 20.1% by this standard.
'May Queen' separated itself from the pack. 'Five Fingers' is a rival drama in the same timeslot and while the ratings rose 1.7% to a total of 10.1%, it was unable to close the gap.
In this episode, Chang Hee (played by Jae Hee) breaks up with Hae Joo (played by Han Ji Hye) after finding out but his father's (Ki Chool, played by Kim Gyu Chul) wrongdoings. Ki Chool tells Chang Hee to leave Korea and live abroad when he saw how much Chang Hee was suffering at the harsh reality. At this, Chang Hee decides to run away overseas with Hae Joo.
Although it looked like Hae Joo accepted the breakup bravely with composure, but she was unable to stop her tears from flowing, which broke the hearts of the viewers.
