After Warner Brothers created a park based on JK Rowling's series of magical books, other British-made pop culture icons will also be getting the "Harry Potter" treatment!
According to The Guardian, BBC is currently discussing with contractors (London Resort Company Holdings) to develop a possible "Top Gear," "Dr. Who" and "Sherlock" theme park.
BBC Worldwide reportedly struck a deal with a property-development company from Kuwait to "bring to life" some of the UK's most popular shows in a £200 billion theme park and holiday resort plan.
In partnership with Paramount Pictures, the project will reportedly be built by the Thames in north Kent.
Should the plans push through, fans of "Dr. Who" and "Sherlock" will be able to fully immerse in the two show's universes as well as other British shows and films from Paramount.
BBC and Paramount aims to "combine the glamour of Hollywood with the best of British culture" with the "Dr. Who" and "Sherlock" theme park.
"They will now whittle down the programme brands and characters which are to be turned into rides, interactive simulators and experiences," The Guardian reported.
The resort will "seek to attract foreign tourists to the UK as well as Brits who have grown up with the BBC" thus the "likely" inclusion of "Top Gear," "Dr. Who" and "Sherlock" in the park.
Paramount Pictures also allowed the LRCH to access their movie library which includes "Mission: Impossible," "Star Trek," "The Godfather" and "The Italian Job."
The announcement has given fans a lot of excitement and thoughts regarding the kinds of rides that could be included in the park.
MTV suggested that fans "relentlessly tweet" awesome ride names and other possible attraction at BBC. "Escape From Asylum of the Daleks," "Moriarty's Madhouse," as well as a Peter Capaldi rollercoster were already suggested.
The park is tentatively scheduled to be opened around Easter in 2020. Avid fans still have six years to plan future trips and to bombard the BBC official Twitter page with ride name suggestions and other friendly advises.
Would you visit the "Dr. Who" and "Sherlock" theme park when it opens in 2020?
Meanwhile, "Sherlock" will be returning to television for a Christmas special in 2016 and the regular season 4 in January 2017.
