Los Angeles Lakers fans were given a glimpse of Linsanity as Jeremy Lin recovered from a slump to help the team get past defending champ, San Antonio Spurs, for a two-game winning streak.

Jeremy Lin scored 14 points, dished eight assists and grabbed two rebounds against San Antonio Spurs on Friday. But it's not the final tally, but rather the energy that Linsanity brought to the squad when he checked in for Ronnie Price.

The starters were very laggard at that point, and the team only managed a run when Nick Young and Jeremy Lin entered the game. Swaggy P scored 29 points on a hot 6 of 9 from downtown, including the go-ahead basket as the time expired.

"Nick Young saved the Lakers in overtime, hitting a long three-pointer deep in the shot clock to put the Lakers ahead by the final margin with 7.4 seconds left overtime," said LA Times.

Manu Ginobili missed an off-balance three, which allowed the Lakers to win its second straight.

Meanwhile, the chase for Michael Jordan continued for Kobe Bryant who scored 22 points in the game, just eight points behind the third all-time scoring leader. He's expected to pass the GOAT in the Lakers' next game against Minnesota Timberwolves.

NBA courtside reporter Kevin Ding earlier wrote on Bleacher Report that Jeremy Lin has a chance to bring Linsanity to Los Angeles like he did in New York. "Bryant has chosen Lin to challenge, and in a way it's an honor. In another way, it's just the sort of heavy-handed demands that some players don't want and can't handle if they don't have enough self-respect inside," he wrote.

He wrote that Kobe Bryant is crusading for Jeremy Lin and Linsanity "like Bryant's all-time-fave teammate Derek Fisher would, to be confident enough in himself and his decisions not to defer. Bryant has also said Lin can be a great defensive player."
